Yesterday was my second lab day as a pastry arts student at Niagara College. If I thought that the day before was exhausting, boy was I wrong! This time, we made three completely different kinds of cookies all involving different techniques in creaming! Who'd a thought? The day before, we made one batter, two cookies... But this time we made double chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies and piped shortbread. Needless to say, I'm gaining weight. I have so many!!!!! I never want to look at another cookie again. Although, I'm sure I'll feel even more strongly about this tomorrow night after we make even more cookies. COOKIES EVERYWHERE! It was quite the experience though, I must say. However, it was a million degrees in the kitchen again, so my product may not contain blood or tears, but definitely some sweat! It was tiring, to say the least. Today we have a day of classes instead of labs. So we've done some theory, some bakery management and some nutrition. Tonight, I have to take a computer class, which may hopefully help me with my technology abilities... let's hope at least!
Here is a picture of my cookie chaos!
PS: This isn't even a tenth of what I have!
